Last week we celebrated my mother in laws 91st birthday.
We went to The Mercer Kitchen a Jean-George Restaurant located on Prince Street in The Mercer Hotel. When I walked toward our table I heard a thumping above my head. I realized it was people walking by us, overhead. Lucky I had my camera with me.

I can’t believe today is the 22nd of December, and it’s almost 2015!
It seems like yesterday when we dropped off our freshman son off at college and my daughter left for her semester abroad to Australia (we got to visit her in November).
Remember when you were a kid. The school days passed by so slowly, and the summers ran by us full speed. Those days are just passing memories now.
First, I want to apologize for not being up to date on all your posts. It’s not for lack of interest! For some reason, my notification emails are not getting to me. I have looked, I still am following all of you, so not sure what is going on. It really makes it easy when you have an email to click on! I just don’t get to my reader like I used to. I’m just too busy being busy.
I want to thank all my fellow bloggers for all the support over the years. I have (virtually) met so many kind, smart, interesting and helpful people in this blogging world.
Happy Holidays and a Healthy New YEAR!

Yesterday was a spectacular day here in Boston, 86° and bright sun all day. My husband and I decided to make a trip to Suffolk Downs, the local race track, located near Logan Airport.
In 2011, the state passed a law that would allow for 3 resort style casinos and 1 slot machine parlor to open in Massachusetts. One of the coveted spots, would be in the greater Boston area.
Suffolk Downs (backed by the Mohegan Sun group) was one of the locations being considered. But, lost out to a Wynn Resort which will be built in nearby Everett.
Because of this, Suffolk Downs will be shutting down forever on October 4th. He thought yesterday would be a perfect day for us to go.
I don’t remember the last time I went to Suffolk Downs. I think I was part of a big group, and the excitement in the air was palpable. Today the crowd was just there. I felt no excitement around me. The track wasn’t crowded, and had no life to it. People were watching races from other parks on TV’s set up near the betting windows. I remember listening to the people around you strategizing about what horse they were going to pick. Not today, just a bunch a lackadaisical people mulling around. I wondered if I was missing something.
We stayed for 5 races, the last being the 7th race, the most exciting for us. The number 1 horse was Everyday Dave, how could I not bet him, my husbands NAME. I always bet on Number 7 in the 7th race. I went to the window placed my bet. $5.00 on 7 across the board, $5.00 on 1 across the board and a $1.00 box on 7 & 1. We got the tickets and went outside to watch the race. We picked our spot right in front of the finish line, so we wouldn’t miss anything. The bugle sounded and they were off, our horses were in the top 3 while they were coming towards the finish line. It was hard to make out who the winners were. A photo finished was needed. My horses came in first and second, I won $71.00. The excitement was back.
Even if I ended down a couple bucks.
All the pictures were taken with my iPhone 6!
These pictures were taken last month in Aramingo, a suburb of Philadelphia.
Here I am sitting at my computer. I got an email from Minted.com. (this is the site where I have entered my pictures in some contests and actually have won, and sold some), reminding me that voting has begun for the last contest I had entered.
I went to the minted.com site and what did I see?
My picture, right there on the front page of their website. I was shocked and pretty surprised. I sent a link to my husband, and he told me when he went to their site, he was directed to a different home page, not the one that I had been directed to. I was reminded how sophisticated internet direct marketing can be. Everything you do online can been seen, and companies will take advantage of that! They show you what they think you want to see. Increasing the odds that you may buy what you were, looking at previously.
So, the point of this is not to rant about what gets shown to who and why. It’s another plea for your help, and ask you again to vote for ME.
These are the images I have submitted these pictures.
Here is the link VOTE
Thanks for all the support, I really appreciate it!
I haven’t posted a blog, or even looked at my reader.
Here is a link to what I have been up to in pictures. Click on the ferris wheel to watch it.
I also opened a store on the minted site, click the picture to see my storefront.
I would love feedback, if you have any to give.
Here is something that I did as an experiment. Walking in New York city, I felt as if I was constantly walking into a crowd. I was disoriented, and adrift from my family, since I was behind my lens.
I was in constant motion and tried to capture this with my camera….How did I DO?
Today was a beautiful day to enjoy the Boston Public Gardens, and to watch the swans, ducks and Swan Boats glide by.
First, I want to thank all of you who have voted for my pictures. I couldn’t have won without your support!
Minted.com is having a new challenge, called The Eye of the Beholder.
